Will start to measure the weight, body water, fat, muscles and bone density. Soon blood pressure, as it is part of the goals, as well as food intake (app).
Reporting this journey daily is a slightly time consuming. Thought to make it weekly, but at the end, it is useful to keep on track to keep it daily.
Busy day visiting 4 flats 300km roundtrip away. Would rate my diet today to 4/10 due to eating along the way. Small walk, slightly faster than yesterday.
As results needs goals and metrics:
6 months goals (mid term)
Blood glucose < 7 mmol/L
Resting heart beat rate < 70 bpm
Blood pressure < 120/80 mmHg
BMI < 30 kg/m2 meaning 4.5 kg/month
Stop smoking. Maybe e-cigarette nicotine free
Actions taken to get there
No food btw 10pm till 10am and between main meals
Max kCal intake < 1’800 kCal/day
Food monitoring (app, scanning items)
Food type: green, fish and others vegan food
Minimal sport activity: 30min/day on week days 60min/day on weekends
Got a new smartwatch and been busy with admin tasks to clear the road for the rest of the week. Real things to start tomorrow.
Below the dashboard from my phone. Based on the data, it’s definitely time to improve my fitness level. Guessing we can’t fix things waiting too long to get them fixed.
Small walk
Ended up doing a 30min walk. Don’t listen always to your body, especially when it is about exercising is my motto. He might well be like a kid pretending illness not go to school today.
That little 30min were just great and refreshing (4 C today here)
Took 1 week off to sort out all those pending things I have in my todo list.
But spent the 4 first days sleeping. A tiredness that I never experimented. Told myself something should be wrong in my lifestyle. So before thinking the very bad things the first link on Google will return, I tried to guess. And in my guess list, came:
lack of exercising
lack of vitamins (especially anti-oxydants)
unhealthy food
So after waking up at noon today, I went to the supermarket and bought only green unprocessed stuff and fish.
The criteria was: if it has more than 2 g of sugar per 100 g, its a no. Same if it is processed food. So I ended up with the groceries above.
Then I opened the shelve and took the vitamins I found and bought during my last trip in South Africa:
PQQ
L Glutathione
NAD+
Ubiquinol CO Q10
Omega-3
Collagen
Joint and cartilage support
Lecithin 1200
Curcumin
Resveratrol
Selenium
K2
Aspirin Cardio 100
Metformin 1000 mg
1 pill of multi vitamins
There is nothing scientifically proven here, but 4-5h later, I felt much more energetic to the point that I have plan my day for tomorrow and wrote this page.
As a diabetic, I haven’t regularly check my blood sugar much this year, which is bad. Few check earlier this year showed 29.1 mmol/L (524 mg/dl) which is very high, as people will get hospitalised at 19 mmol/L (342 mg/dl) if I’m not mistaken.
My weight is 119.5 kg. It went even to 127 kg 2 months ago..
So tomorrow, wake up 7am. Will buy a simple smart watch probably, as the one I was having doesn’t start anymore. Then a walk. And from now, keeping up with the diet.
Well did a blood glucose test for future reference while writing this page. 18.9 mmol/L (340 mg/dl)
So the goal is simple: healthy diet full time, daily routine exercising, 7h min of sleep a day.
I’m not willing to post about diabetes generally speaking. So this blog will remain about the journey it took to get healthy, with evidences on BP, blood sugar, weight, exercising and overall feeling.
It’s because we have one life that I’m back on this journey. To live the best version of it.
And this journey is restarting. Remembering day 1 from last year, its a quite singular day: The journey sounds such a stranger. Why now leave the comfort that laziness has to offer, why thinking exercising, healthy diet and so.
Because this kind of journey can always be postponed after all.
Doing so, the only loser will be me. And I will continue thinking I must do it.
While doing it, I can stop thinking I should do it or regret haven’t do it. And instead, enjoy the journey and new destination.
Covid made me to interrupt this journey in 2020, after gym closed and confinement requested. Seems each time something change in life, the first things first that is interrupted is sport. At least for me.
Then I could have resume this journey after the end of the first wave, but lazinees dictated my life and the usual excuses: work. While I could have organise my days to make it work.
So here we are. Day 1 again. And with more weight. Let me postpone the traumatising the experience it will be going on the scale. I will do it tomorrow..
Recently. Gained weight. Perceptible compared to the covid pic belowCovid. Tried hair colour
No results, means something must be changed. Results means doing the rights things. As long as healthy and joyful approach, it’s easier to reach a goal with that in mind. Josh Groban ready to join my workout today, for few songs. Little things can make feel happy. A nice journey begin!
Again the watch restarted mid way, so partial workout have been recorded
COVID-19 again and its media coverage
This covid-19 media coverage sounds so strange. On one side, what seems to be the cure (plaquenil -cost 4 cent the pill and the antibiotic azithromycin) that have cure the all (6) patients under the French trial (cured means no more virus detectable and no more infectious patients, with full recovery) at day 6, and its very little media coverage, and on the other side, the dramatic and very large place around the covid-19 itself, its propagation, the confinement and so. Like if the media prefer focusing much more on the problem, and very little what seems to be a solution. Fortunately, a large European trial is undergo, involving 3200 patients. Result in 6 weeks.
So much drama also on the Swiss news. Unusual. But maybe, the journalist seeking for sensationalism.
When it rain let it flow. When its night let it come. When its past look forward. To adapt to enjoy the moment.
Old malaria drug hydroxychloroquine may help cure coronavirus: study
A total of 36 patients — including 20 treated individuals and 16 infected controls — were enrolled in the study, led by Didier Raoult, an infectious disease expert from l’Institut Hospitalo-Universitaire in Marseille.
The treated group was given 600 mg of Plaquenil each day.
The researchers found that 50 percent of the treated group turned from positive to negative for the virus by the third day — and by day six, that figure was up to 70 percent.
Of the 20 test patients, six who were treated with both Plaquenil and the antibiotic azithromycin showed impressive results — with five testing negative at day three. All six of them tested negative at day six.
“Despite its small sample size our survey shows that hydroxychloroquine treatment is significantly associated with viral load reduction/disappearance in COVID-19 patients and its effect is reinforced by azithromycin,” the study concluded. See the NYPost article.
Both drugs are well-known, cheap and easy to produce..
